(Wo)men Rule Broadway: Director and Producer
(Wo)men Rule Broadway
In 2016 I created a show were women of any race, age, identity, or orientation could perform musical theater roles originally written for men. It has since expanded to include everyone of any race, gender identity, orientation, age, and background to play roles that society has historically denied them.
As part of our mission statement, we always donate 100% of the ticket sales to a nonprofit.
(W)RB has performed live shows in Los Angeles, Orange County, and London, as well as filming original music videos and online content promoting our mission.
Los Angeles
Our first production was in 2016 at the Let Live Theater in Hollywood, CA with special guest stars Tara Strong (PowerPuff Girls, Rugrats, Teen Titans), and E.G. Daily (PowerPuff Girls, Rugrats, Friends).
100% of the ticket sales of this run were donated to Downtown Women’s Center, an organization in Los Angeles focused exclusively on serving women and gender diverse individuals experiencing homelessness.

Orange County
We performed at McCoy Rigby Arts in Orange County, with an amazing cast, crew, and live band.
100% of the ticket sales from this show were donated to True Colors United, a nonprofit that implements innovative solutions to youth homelessness that focus on the unique experiences of LGBTQ+ young people.

London
We took the show to England for their annual Vault Theater Festival and had a fantastic show with some performers from the West End Theater scene.
100% of the ticket sales from this run were donated to Refugee Women Connect, a charity based in Liverpool and working with women asylum seekers, refugees and survivors of trafficking across Merseyside and surrounding areas.
Music Videos
As part of our mission to reach as many people as possible, I produced and directed this music video cover of “I am what I am” from La Cage Aux Folles.

“This show is not about proving that women can hang with/be just like men, but…to show that women, like men, are fully complex human beings with more inside of us than what society has given us permission to show.”
